Team Captain’s Responsibilities

1.       It is the responsibility of the team Captain to read your bylaws: Most disputes that arise during a league match can be resolved between team captains using the bylaws. If Captains cannot reach an agreement, the dispute in question than may be submitted to the Board of Directors, or grievance Chairman for further review.

2.         At the start of each season, the Team Captain will insure that their Team Fee and Players dues will be paid and turned into the league on the first night of league play.  Sponsorship dues are $75.00; player’s dues are $10.00 per year or $5.00 for leagues playing after July 10.  Nightly league fees are $3.00 per person.  Without prior approval of the Board, any team who has not turned in their team sponsor fee by the third Tuesday of league play may be removed from league play.  A returned check charge of $20.00 will be assessed to anyone who issues a check to the league, which is returned for insufficient funds.  Team members MUST be at least 21 years of age to participate in RCDA events.

3.       At the start of the season Team Captains will turn in to the league a team roster to include each player’s name, address (including zip code), phone numbers, and e-mail addresses.  This roster should be updated throughout the season as is necessary.

4.        Upon conclusion of the night’s match, both Team Captains must call their scores in to the League Statistician.  Example:  Team Name, Team Number, and Team Score (who got what score).  On the day following a match the Team Captain will mail the previous night’s Score Sheets and Team Members Fees to the League Statistician.  If Score Sheets and League Fees are NOT received by the League Statistician within a week (7 days) following a match, five (5) points will be deducted from the team’s score, and the team member’s personal skill points on that Score Sheet will be forfeited.

5.       League fees are due nightly. If weeks 1-7 are not paid by week 8, skill points will be withheld until paid, provided they were submitted according to the bylaws. For week 8-15, if fees are not paid by the Friday before City Cup play begins, skill points will be withheld, and players will be prohibited from City Cup play. Once monies are paid by the established deadlines, all scores and points will be posted accordingly.

6.       The Team Captain will update their Team on the league schedule, standings, and skill points, which will be posted on the league sponsored website and sent to the Team Captains prior to the start of the next league night.  The Team Captain will also apprise their team on any information received from the league.  This should be done prior to the beginning or following league play as not to interrupt or disrupt league play.  It is a good idea for the Team Captain to keep a copy of the score and weekly stat sheets for their own personal records. Team members who have internet, can receive a copy of the weekly standings if they submit an email address to the statistician

7.       The Team Captain will notify the opposing Team Captain, prior to the start of play of any substitutes they plan to use or if a team member will be late or has to leave early.  REMEMBER:  Anyone who participates in one event must play in the Team Match; also no more than six people may play in the Team Match.

8.       The Team Captain or a representative from that team must be present for the Team Captain’s meetings or other required league meetings.  A roll call of ALL teams will be held at the beginning of these meetings.  If a team representative is NOT present for the roll call, the team WILL lose five (5) points per occurrence from their team’s current score.

9.       Good Sportspersonship is the foundation of darts.  The Team Captain is responsible for monitoring and regulating their team behavior.  As representatives of the Dart League and guests in the establishment in which you are playing, your actions should reflect good etiquette and common sense.  If disputes arise, try to settle them at the team level.  REMEMBER:  Team disputes settled at the team level, by the Team Captains or someone acting as the Team Captain are binding by both teams.  Should a problem occur that can not be settled at the team level, a grievance may be filed to the league.
